The quality of the recent books has been amazing, but it looks like it's going to get even better with 'Vulcan Lives' 'Unremembered Empire' and my personal favorite 'Vengeful Spirit'.
I must say, I tried to read Nick Kyme's first Salamanders novel and it was so bad that I gave up. Which is rare for me. I almost gave up with Deliverance Lost too, but persisted in the hope it would become better (it didn't).
Sad to say, I don't read heresy novels now unless they're written by ADB, Dan Abnett or Graham McNeil. That said, I did thoroughly enjoy Brotherhood of the Storm by Chris Wraight. Which is just as well, as I'm a massive White Scars fan.
The whole hard back decision for the HH has really curtailed my reading. I am still waiting for Angel exterminatus to come out in paperback. It's been a nice break, but I really want to get back into it. Answers, damn it! I still want answers!
Exterminatus is out in paperback? So is betrayer. Dont think anything is coming out in the original format anymore. Sadly for my shelf display.
I will not buy any of the new books in any format other than that of the original 20ish. Sucks because I have really been wanting to read them.

I remember reading on the black library blog that they will release all novels in all formats the hardback collector version is first then six months or so later the paperback would b out
