I was going to go, but our Axanar movie has consumed my time, so I will have to wait till the next Horus Heresy Weekender.  But since I was flying from Los Angeles, I can now buy a Warlord with the $ I save!!

Warlord Arrives!

Well, after some trial sand tribulations, my Warlord Titan was delivered to me for a second time.  The first time the packing was not so good and the Titan was damaged.  I sent it back and this time it was AMAZINGLY well packed.

Well, tomorrow is a big Apocalypse game vs the Eldar, so Aaron Lovejoy came up to get a coat of paint on the Warlord.  Here are a few quick photos.

Unpacked and set up at our office.  Everyone got a kick out of it.

The model needs some touching up.  There is a lot of resin and that means a lot of bubbles.

Aaron Lovejoy, hamming it up for the camera.

My other two Aaron Lovejoy painted Titans are a tad small....

More to come as we paint this beast.

Lucius Pattern Emperor Class Titan

The guys who are doing my Warlord Titan have discussed doing an Emperor Class.  And of course I am game for that.  My call would be to do a Lucius Pattern Emperor Class Titan.  The old Epic model that has a castle on a the top looks ridiculous and so one modeler converted one to look in line with the Lucius Pattern Warlord.

And the Warlord it is patterned after:

Warlord Titans

Justin Drayer & Chris Mrozinski are two huge 40K Fans who are scratchbuilding Warlord Titans.

They built THREE recently!  They take them about 3 months to complete.  I ordered one because my Apocalypse army needs a big monster like a Warlord.  And they really are beautiful.

First is the Grey Knights Warlord they built for a customer:

Second, the Warlord they built for me.

You can read more about them on Warseer or on The Apocalypse 40K Forum.

The Big Game Update: T- two weeks.

Well, with two weeks left till The Big Game, I spent yesterday (Saturday) with Xenos Supreme Commander John Macomber and his lieutenant Golden Demon winner Aaron Lovejoy (who paints the vehicles for my Crimson Templars).  We had a general hobby day, painting and working out the details for The Big Game.

It seems that a lot of players here in Southern California are really gearing up, building and painting, for The Big Game.  Even L.A. GW Bunker manager James Bell, who is a Golden Demon winning painter himself, and who will be managing the 200+ people we expect that day, is painting an additional 3,000 points for his Imperial Fists for Bunker regular Travis Solomon to use!

I am also happy to say that the Titan battlefield will have no less than SIX Warlord Titans battling it out, including what is probably the best Warlord Titan in the United States, Dave Smith's Warlord, which was featured in Bell of Lost Souls. Dave is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet in the game, and his Warlord took him 8 months to complete.  The first time I saw it I thought "When did Forgeworld start making Warlord Titans?".

We also have gotten Senobio Aguilaera, owner of Adventures Guild Gaming in Riverside, California, to bring his 100,000 points of Imperial Guard to The Big Game.  His assistant Raymond is bringing 10,000 points of Terminators as well!  Senobio is a great guy, a good friend of James Bell, and a passionate supporter of 40K.  He just moved his store to a new location and he will be bringing some of his big gamers with him.  I stopped by his store and they are serious Apoc gamers!  I saw a Leviathan, a scratch built Thunderhawk and two Ork Gargants, and half a dozen Armorcast Titans!

Also, if you want to play in The Big Game, and need an army, contact me as there are extra armies that I, and some of the other players have, that we would be happy to lend you.

Warlord Titan!

There is a scratch built Warlord Titan on eBay.  While I have to admit it is one of the best ones I have seen, the $ 2,000 price tag is way high.  When you build Titans like this, you have to realize you will never get the money you think it is worth out of it.

The Description:

Up for bid is a one of a kind scratch built and painted Warlord Titan for Warhammer 40K. I am a professional toy designer and have been featured in White Dwarf and Wizards magazines.

You will NOT find a more accurate version of this beast. I created him using the epic model and scaling up. He has a foam board core which is completely covered in plastruct plastic sheeting. Other materials include pvc and metal rods, and TONS of bits from various toys and models. The detail on this guy is incredible with over 1000 rivits and stands over 2ft tall. He is armed with a Volcano Cannon, Gatling Blaster, and 2 Double-Barreled Turbo-Laser Destructors. Yes, it can kill ANYTHING on the board. Email me with any questions. Other figures and models are not included.

A beautiful piece, it needs a good home!
