New 40K Releases - GW and more.

The new Tau Farsight Supplement will be released July 13th.  It will be released digitally through the Black Library.  You can find all their digital decisions here.

While I think the digital versions of the codex are very overpriced (I would like to see a package deal where, when you buy the print version you get the digital version for a small additional charge), I love the whole supplement idea.  It gets players more information and ability to game with specialized armies.

Puppets War has a new release, an Ork flyer called the "Flying Coffin".  You can find it here.

Hope everyone is having a great Fourth of July weekend!

Chapterhouse Studios Kickstarter / GW Pricing Poll

Chapterhouse Studios has a Kickstarter up for alien race defense lines & weapons.  I have seen a resin manufacturer in L.A. make these when I was at Adepticon.  CHS has some interesting takes.  Of course we get Eldar and Tau and Necrons, all of which have easily identifiable aesthetics.  Pretty cool stuff.  And it has already funded, so we can look forward to some interesting items in the near future.

I also started a poll on Facebook and I hope you will all vote in it.  Already we have 55 votes in and the results are telling.  Go to our Facebook group to vote.  Results tomorrow.

New Codex, New Resin Models

What's next in 40K?

With Tau finally being released, the rumors are flying about what the next codexes will be this year.  Seems like the consensus is Eldar in June, followed by Space Marines in October.  In between we will see a new Apocalypse book.

Eldar players have been whining for years, since their codex is one of the oldest ones around, that need a new one.  And so it looks like they are getting their update.

Marines are always updated right after a new edition, and I hope this update will make the Marines a bit more powerful.  Sorry, but vanilla marines have been rather bland and under-whelming this edition.

Apocalypse could use an update to make the game a little less of the wild west.  Any long time Apocalypse die-hard will tell you that you need a bunch of house rules to make the game fair and balanced.

And there are the plastic Thunderhawk rumors.  Now I always said GW would NEVER make a plastic Baneblade.  How wrong as I?  So it is a possibility, but the image in the White Dwarf doesn't give you any hint.  It looks like a Forge World T-Hawk.

Anvil Industries Releases Marine Analog
The Black Ops Fire Team is your basic Tactical Squad.  10 resin miniatures for 35 GBP or $53.  You can add any of Anvil's resin bases for 5GBP or $ 8 more.

Black Ops Suppression Teams are basically Devastators.  You get 5 for 24.50GBP, roughly $37.  So far there are missile launchers and autocannons available.

My problem with this is, why would I use them?  There are only two reasons to use resin figures rather than GW plastic Marines.

1)  They are cooler looking

2)  They are cheaper.

These are nice looking, but not spectacular.  And they are MORE expensive than a tactical squad!

None the less, I like Anvil and support them in their efforts.

The Ignitus Tank from Machinator

Tom McBride, aka Machinator, who runs Blood and Skulls Industry, has created another super heavy marvel.  And this one will be the grand prize for the Best Army at The Big Game III in Memphis.  The parts will, of course, be available in Tom's Shop soon.

The main weapon has a swappable flamethrower and thermal cannon piece held in place by magnets that allows you to switch barrels out very easily.

Dragon Forge Releases Weapons Base.

Sorry about the absence this week.  I was moving from Newport Beach to Los Angeles (about an hour drive) and so was just buried with moving and fitting stuff into my office/warehouse that didn't fit in my new, smaller apartment.

Puppets War Releases Flyer

Puppets War continues to put out amazing models that fit perfectly into 40K.

The Dragonfly aircraft is an awesome multi-part kit which includes 27 components.  Made for 35mm tabletop wargames scale (300mm length from front to tail, and wingspan of about 260mm). It retails for a very reasonable $ 40.

Looks like it could lift a Rhino, but I wish this was more of a Storm raven/Storm Eagle analog and could carry troops.

Knowing Puppets War they will come out with variations.

Scibor Releases Black Templar Land Raider Panels

Scibor has released a set of Land Raider decorative icons.  Now I play a Crimson Templar army, but these don't do it for me.  The doors foll o' skulls don't work for me.  I wish there were more Maltese Crosses.

You can find them on the Scibor website here.
