it's sad that PVC one is the one with the most work and forethought, and still looks like a 5th grade art project.
They may not be as detailed or work-intensive as a regular scratchbuild or the official model, but at least there's an attempt here. This guy has a good idea with the magnetized gems and LEDs for bookkeeping. The biggest thing to remember is that this is a hobby, and we're all trying to do some cool stuff on our budgets.
Sorry but I've seen better stuff done on a tighter budget, this is just terrible. Especially the pipe titan, that's just lazy and much worse than paper titans (which are cheaper).

Full marks for enthusiasm, but yeah, I wouldn't exactly call it sterling work. Not everyone has the talent to scratch-build convincing replicas or the cash to pay for the 'real deal', but these still seem pretty darn slapdash. They would be laughed off the tables here. There are some cool ideas incorporated in the builds though - the LED marker lights are a great idea, too bad they're let down by the rest of the build...
Oh man they were bad. But I do feel that the Pipe titan has hope, if he can pull off what he say's.
But good on him for trying, and we have to bare in mind we are all hobbyist's doing the same hobby and should support and encorage each other were we can. But criticisam is also warrented because without it how are we to inprove.
Well Alec.... Its an attempt. Its NOT something I would play with Nor something I would allow in an actual tourney, but Its the first through third attempts at someone wanting to take some time to do something he enjoys. NOW that being said he is not done with MK3 and I hope is learning from a great community about how to detail and build. I actually LIKE the Void shield/structure point LED on MK1 and actually plan to steal that Idea for mine. Great Ideas, and with proper guidance could possibly go far. I hope he does not get put off by poeople who will only put his attemps down without offering a solution for improvement.....

I say let him bring them and play. If you want your game to be a dog and pony show then that is your call, at least he is trying. If you have a scratch built titan under your belt then talk all the smack you want to. If you haven't built your own titan then, Why not? A local guy showed at an Apocalypse game with four flower pot stompas. They were kinda goofy but at least he put his money were his mouth was. Alot of the guys at the game talked smack about the stompas but he was trying. Many people have a hard time turing their ideas into something real and I try to encourage them. The first two titans showed him he could do it and the pipe titan shows how far he has progressed in his ability to make his idea into a reality.

What money? What mouth? Putting your money where your mouth is is spending time to make something that makes people stop and go "Wow", its being the best. It's spending TIME to do that.
This guy sat down with cheetos some styrofoam and a hot wire kife and said "I bet I can make a titan" and then watched Band of Brothers at the end he needed a titan and BAMMO number 2 was made.
Number 3 has promise. But considering number 2 was worse than number 1 I don't set the bar to high.
@Fodabett I think you are missing my point, Yes, the models are pretty bad. Yes, he may be cheap and lazy or just on a shoestring budget, I don't know the guy. Back to my example of the flower pot stompas. People talked smack about the models but none of them had even attempted to build something close. They derided the guy who had at least tried. At least this guy is trying too, maybe he should try a little harder but he is making an effort. The other side is that if his model is so bad then when you field your model beside his, it will make yours look so much better.

Trying is making one crappy titan. Lazy is saying its done and moving onto not only another, but another.
As far as costs, I built a warlord using the template online out of plasticard and I bet the whole project ran me 40$ in plasticard only because I bought the thicker sturdier kind.
This guy is more then welcome to come and play, but I wouldn't encourage his lazy behavior by playing him.

As they are now, they're...er...not sterling examples of scratch-building, but being the ever-optimistic wanna-be Tech-Priest, I see promise in their crude forms. If the first two "2-D" Titans were thickened up with layers of foamcore (like those 3-D puzzles where you stack layers on top of each other until you have the Sphinx or Venus de Milo), they'd look pretty boss. The third PVC pipe one is about halfway to becoming an acceptable Titan - it wouldn't take too much additional fleshing out.
