Blood And Skulls Industry releases new weapons.

As anyone on the Apocalypse 40K forum knows, I am a big fan of Tom McBride and his resin creations with Blood and Skulls Industry.  Well, Tom has been on a tear lately and after finishing his two amazing Jet Bikes, came up with some new guns for his Fellblade turrets.  Here they are and make sure to check out his eBay store for all his goodies!

A Survey of Resin Thunderwolves available for Space Wolves

With Games Workshop once again dropping the ball on release of the must-have unit for Space Wolves, a number of resin aftermarket companies, including Armorcast and Micro Art Studio have stepped forward to fill that void.  All offer resin wolves to allow you to field a Thunder Wolf unit.  I went through as much info as I could find and came up with these options.  The Armorcast unit being the newest, and the impetus for this wrap up.

"The armored Sturmwolf Warbeast is a mutant terror larger than a horse and stronger than a bull. This model also features GothTech armored rider legs. The Warbeast is a multimedia casting with a resin body and a pewter tail & rider legs - sold unpainted. The unit five pack contains five sets of legs and a total of five random version #1 and #2 bodies and five random version #1 & #2 tails. Sculpted by Clint Staples."

You get 5 Wolf bodies, 5 sets of legs and 5 tails for $ 66.

Micro Art Studio is the other big Polish miniatures house that started selling conversions on eBay.  They have 3 different wolves and even better, two different wolves with Space Marine legs on them.  OK, they aren't supposed to SAY Space Marine (and they don't) but who are we kidding?  You can see their range of Wolves here.

With the new release of the wolves with marine legs, I am not sure why you would even bother with the wolves without the legs.  Here is a photo:

Mr. Dandy is a small resin manufacturer has 5 different wolves that sell for $ 90 for a set of 5.  These also have Space Marine legs and come with bases.  Defintely the most expensive option, but also one of the nicest.

Battle Wolf War Mounts:

Basic Battle Wolf Mount:

The Basic Battle Wold War Mount was the first released and is more basic.  You can buy the legs for $ 2 or the wolf with base and legs for $ 15.

Mythicast is an outfit from the Phillipines has a bunch of cool 40K models.   You can read a great review of these at Meandering the Dune Sea.  There are all sorts of great resin Space Wolf and Tryanid models to be had on this site.  The set of 5 goes for $ 73 with free shipping!

Finally Paulson Games may be your most economical choice.  At $ 10 each they are well priced and good looking.

Bitspudio

Three poses available on eBay from this rising eBay seller, who also has great Razorback turrets.

Well, there you go.  If I have missed anything, please let me know!

Micro Art Studio Iron Brotherhood

There are more than a few Adeptus Mechanicus armies out there.  Black Library has included them in many a book, and the forces of the Mechanicum have been very popular in the conversion arena.  To feed this, Micro Art Studio has released a series of models that allow you to field a pretty complete Mechanicus army called Iron Brotherhood.  Most people will use IG rules for the Mechanicus force and their Skatarii, but you could do a MEQ as well.  Here are the choices:

HQ #2

Forgeworld Re-releases Death Korp, Solomon Lok

Forgeworld has re-released three sets of miniatures.  The first two, are re-packagings of miniatures previously released.  The Death Korps Commissar Set, always a favorite of IG players, and the Death Korps Tank Commander set rhttp://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Images/Product/DefaultFW/xlarge/Solgroup.jpgeviously sold as individual models.  The Inquisitor Solomon Lok and Retinue has been sold before is a set, but presumably these are new castings.

I think it is smart to package them together from Forgeworld's perspective.  Of course, less choice on the collector's part.

Death Korps Tank Commander

I assume these are all new castings.  Forgeworld must have a new casting company who is re-doing every mold.  The new castings I have gotten from Forgeworld have been excellent, where even just a year ago they were shaky.  The first two Caestus Assault Rams I purchased were crappy castings, with lots of warpage of the hulls.  But the last one I got was orders of magnitude better.  Just look for the new sprues on the pieces to see if you are getting new castings.  The new ones have sprues with extra pieces of resin on them that look like an upside down jersey barrier.  More on this later.

40K Lore in a Minute - Merry Christmas!

A brilliant piece of animation that basically tells you everything you need to know about the Warhammer 40,000 universe, so you don't have to read the Horus Heresy books.

I laugh my butt off at this and it really nails it too.

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!  I hope you get bolters, chainswords, runes, new slaves, or whatever your heart desires.

Scibor continues to sell its awesome Space Marine analogs.  The newest is a set of Templar Knights.

Puppet's War has added a few new products.

Forgeworld New Releases - Machrius Omega and Deimos Pattern Predator

Well, just in time for Christmas (or not actually), Forgeworld has released two more great tanks.

Macharius Omega

From Forgeworld:

While the sins of innovation and initiative are frowned upon by the Adeptus Mechanicus, new patterns and designs of weapons and armoured vehicles are still created. The Macharius Omega is one such vehicle, created with a single focus, that of the battlefield deployment of the Omega Pattern Plasma Blastgun. The STC for this weapon was originally discovered by Explorator-Magus Hum’nal in late M39, but a Mechanicus schism over the purity and completeness of its template delayed the testing and eventual deployment of the Omega pattern weapon for centuries.

The Macharius Omega, designed by Stuart Williamson, is an extremely detailed full resin kit featuring some incredible interior detail. This open-topped super-heavy tank also includes two unique crew figures: a Cadian gunner and a calculus-servitor. This mighty war machine is available to pre-order now for release in the week commencing 6th January, and full rules for using the Macharius Omega in games of Apocalypse can be found in Imperial Armour Apocalypse Second Edition.

Deimos Pattern Predator

The Predator is a highly effective medium tank designed to provide Space Marine detachments with heavy fire support in the heat of battle. An ancient and revered design, cited by the Codex Astartes as a spiritual mentor, no less, there are almost as many patterns of Predator as there are of the ubiquitous Rhino hull it is based upon.

One such variant is the Deimos Pattern Predator, first issued en-masse to the Space Marine Legions of the Great Crusade. Artificer-crafted by the finest machine-wrights of the great forge-complexes of Mars, the Deimos Pattern Predator has since been modified to the ‘Annihilator’ variant by those Chapters who are supplied with this pattern.

The Deimos Pattern Predator, designed by Daren Parrwood and Will Hayes, is a fantastically detailed and iconic design, available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing 6th January. This complete resin and plastic kit contains sufficient parts to build either a Destructor pattern or an Annihilator pattern Predator, (please note that our Rhino/Predator Reinforced Armour set is not compatible with this model).

Lucius Pattern Emperor Class Titan

The guys who are doing my Warlord Titan have discussed doing an Emperor Class.  And of course I am game for that.  My call would be to do a Lucius Pattern Emperor Class Titan.  The old Epic model that has a castle on a the top looks ridiculous and so one modeler converted one to look in line with the Lucius Pattern Warlord.

And the Warlord it is patterned after:

Warlord Titans

Justin Drayer & Chris Mrozinski are two huge 40K Fans who are scratchbuilding Warlord Titans.

They built THREE recently!  They take them about 3 months to complete.  I ordered one because my Apocalypse army needs a big monster like a Warlord.  And they really are beautiful.

First is the Grey Knights Warlord they built for a customer:

Second, the Warlord they built for me.

You can read more about them on Warseer or on The Apocalypse 40K Forum.
