Call me a shill for Black Library, but in 2 days, tickets go on sale for the big Black Library Weekender, which is Black Library's special event. I am going (and going to get the Gold Ticket!) and I hope if you are located in the UK (or just stupid like me) you will go. Here are the details from Black Library:
Attention all Library novels, set your diaries for the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of November, for the Black Library Weekender will be taking place at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel.
The Black Library Weekender's a fast and furious weekend of Black Library action. It stars 20 authors including Dan Abnett, Graham McNeill, James Swallow, Aaron Dembski-Bowden, Sarah Cawkwell, CZ Dunn and more! Not only will you be able to get sneak-peeks of new artwork, but there will be dozens of seminars, book signings throughout the weekend with every author, as well as evening entertainment including quizzes, author panel shows, competitions and more. You'll also be able to get your hands on an event-exclusive hardback novella, two event-only anthologies (one on sale each day), and a Space Marine Battles audio drama (available 6 months early and with a collectable cover). Oh, and you'll also be able to get hold of Black Library products MONTHS before they go on sale.
There are two types of ticket for the Black Library Weekender - a Silver ticket at £65 and an exclusive (and limited) Gold ticket at £250. Each ticket comes with a goody bag with an exclusive Black Library Weekender t-shirt. Gold ticket bonuses include all the event exclusive products (both anthologies, audio drama and novella); three exclusive author seminars on the Friday in the Black Library offices; in groups of six, you can spend an hour with Dan Abnett, Graham McNeill and James Swallow to find out everything there is to know about writing for Black Library; dinner with the authors and Black Library staff on Friday night; finally, you get a 20-minute chat with a Black Library editor!
