Your comment on space wolves is in jest, right ? Otherwise I suggest you play more 6th Ed games...
They are still very powerful. People just like to cry that they don't have skyfire.
I happen to hate the fact that they have the most powerful psykers in the Imperium, when they supposedly HATE psykers. "Oh but ours aren't REALLY psyers."
UGH
And I just hate Space Vikings. ;-)
What makes you think the Space Wolves would be toned down?
What makes you think they won't be?
Fact is the ridiculous unbalanced codexes we saw with Space Wolves and Grey Knights have disappeared with the new hard cover codexes. Every hard cover codex has been fairly balanced
Meaning that GW is paying attention and doing away with the broken releases. Balance is the new world order.
as usual , people just like to say the whole codex is OP (SW) Just because of 1 or 2 things in the codex , oh yes every codex is OP then , Hi hell drake , hi banner of bolter rapX , etc etc
yeah right , way to be subjective
NO DWARFS AT ALL WTF O_o I mean orcs and goblin are with luck 3 years old. And we dwarfs will already be 3 editions oudated, that is a record good gods. I need to grumble
Yeah I'm scoffing at the comment about Wolves being OP; this ain't 2010, homie. If you think Wolves are cheese, you BETTER not play Grey Knights, Necrons, Dark Angels, Imperial Guard, Chaos Marines, Daemons, Tau, or Eldar. I won't laugh in your face if you exclusively play Sisters, Orks, or Tyranids, though.
I play vanilla marines and Sisters. You are dismissed.
And you think Dark Angels, Chaos, Daemons, Tau and Eldar are cheesy?
Seriously?
You don't think Chaos isn't OP? Winds of Chaos is so OP and anoying.
I'm saying YOU must think they're cheesy by logical extension, as those armies are all more competitive in 6th than Space Wolves. This is why SW players are more rare on the competitive scene, and usually have about the same turnout as Dark Eldar players.
I gave you the caveat that Sisters players are one of the very few groups that are allowed to be bitter about the current state of every other army, so I don't think I'm dismissed. My point is, if you want to single out Wolves, which is a mid-tier army, then you've got a lot of other codexes to start bashing first before you can even begin to think them.
I am not clear how Space Wolves, only exceeded by cheesiness in 5th by Grey Knights, suddenly became "mid-tier". Chaos players whine about how medicore their codex is. Neither Tau nor Eldar are considered over-powered. Necrons are strong, but not over-powered next to any 6th edition codex.
I think all hard cover codexes are fairly in line with each other. Each has strengths, each has potentially VERY strong units, but none is so overpowered that they are dominating the tournament circuit.
3 years ago at Adepticon Space Wolves accounted for 50 of the 54 "Counts As" armies. I wonder why?
Now in 6th edition did they suddenly become neutered?
Do Long Fangs suddenly not get split fire?
Do Thunderwolf Calvary suddenly get weaker? (wound allocation...maybe)
Are their psykers suddenly not the best SM psykers out there and ridiculous?
I hate those players that went from Space Wolves to Grey Knights to Daemons. The players that only play an army because it is cheesy. So I am jaded. No, SW are no longer the Go-To army. Grey Knights took that over and then Daemons. But that doesn't mean SW aren't cheesy.
But go ahead and make your case that Space Wolves aren't cheesy anymore. I am open. Convince me.
Funny you say that
"3 years ago at Adepticon Space Wolves accounted for 50 of the 54 "Counts As" armies. I wonder why?

1)yeah 3 years ago , is your article written 3 years ago ? No , move along , relevant much ? or are you saying the "meta" or pretty much 40k in general is the same compared 3 years ago ?.....
2) LF had always split fire since 3rd ed SW codex , your point ? they werent Op then and now they are ? people just like to complain as if this is some new bling SW gained
3) Thunder calv was never Op to start with , oh a 50 pt TWO wound model on T5 is too hard for you to kill ? really ? i play nids and i constantly stomp SW armies with TW units (avoiding jaws by not taking big bugs that does hurt but ok its 1 thing in that army you are afraid of and i can live with that) , you shoot and see how many 3s they can make , you dont even have them make thier 3++ storm shield that is ANOTHER 30 pts
4) hah ? Best SM psykers ? or do you mean best psyker defense ? in terms of defence yes RIGHT NOW they are , before when the old hood rule was out it was only slightly better , and it makes sense as you said "They hate psykers" so why not have a better psyker defense ? kharn has a 2+ deny the witch , go complain ? or are you the type that wants all SM codexes combine into SM Voltron codex ?
do thier other codex powers that great ? (jaws is way too situational , oh great my nid army is afraid , not says the other half dozen SM equivalent armies or even xenos armies)
I guess theres of course still cheese , but like every codex theres gotta be cheese , suck it up
You haven't told me why the Space Wolves dropped from the top army for tournaments to "mid-tier" as you put it.
I was the one who said they are mid-tier, and they are.
I'm not sure what convincing you need. They are placed mid/bottom-tier on almost every tournament roster since like 2011. They don't have any fliers, skyfire, or any of the standard rules in 6th. They have good anti-psyker, that's like the only advantage over other armies they can boast. TWC? Are you kidding me? Ever heard of wraiths/maulerfiends/nob bikers/paladins/riptides/wraithknights/vendettas/etc.? Long fangs aren't even impressive anymore (I never spammed them anyway).
The onus doesn't really fall to us to even have to defend our position anymore regarding SW. It just is what it is, the reality of the game. I understand if you don't like SW based on fluff or aesthetic or whatever, but saying you don't like them because you think they're cheesy just is not a realistic perspective.
