Well, the name isn't very original. I mean "Forge Planet"? You couldn't find a better name than a knock off for "Forge World"? OK, whatever. Let's see how you do with the resin stuff...
Well, they do pretty well so far, at least judging by their website. They obviously plan to do accessories for all races, but right now are concentrating on Space Marines (Space Legions) and Imperial Guard (Planetary Guard). Again, not very original, but we all know the game here: avoid GW IP lawyers.
Well, first go check out their website for ongoing info and a web store. Forge Planet.
So what have they released so far? Well, first there are Walker Double Autocannons.
These sell for $ 10.95 a pair.
Then there are Razorback Turrets. There are all the usual suspects, and they are $ 10.95 each. They also sell teh weapons without the mounts, or just the mounts. I love the las-plas one.

I am all for supporting new resin manufacturers and so I hope you will give these guys a try!

I love this trend of up and coming resin manufacturers. It is giving us so much more alternatives and the quality is only getting better. Its getting hard to choose which accessory is nicest when so many do great versions of the same option. But this is the first one where i see the double headed eagle included (i think). I am surprised the ip lawyers let them. I suppose as long as one isn't blindfolded then i suppose its ok.
ReplyDeleteLooking good, and price point is really nice... Have to agree that the double headed eagle is likely to cause grief, not sure I would have put it on the piece myself, but that's just me :-)...
ReplyDeleteYeah, that double-eagle plus the unfortunate name is likely a way to get someone's ire at GW.
ReplyDeleteNext will be "Fabrication Planetoid" miniatures. When that get shuts down, it's on to "Coke Oven Comets and other Astral Phenomena" resin pieces.
That said, I agree that the pieces look pretty slick. The plas/las razorback turret has a nifty old feel to it.
Cheers.
If you go to their website you'll see they actually use the double headed eagle as their company logo so they must be confident its ok. I look forward to seeing what else they will release in the future.
ReplyDeleteThe double headed eagle is copyrighted by the Eastern Roman Empire. Since this empire no longer exists I am sure no one will be able to sue them ;)
ReplyDeleteIn the grim darkness of their future, there is only IP Lawsuits.
ReplyDelete+Nice quality models. Some of the best proportions and surface that I have seen.
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly certain that these videos and screenshots are 3D renderings, I would like to see what their final resin castings look like. I do like the Centurion turret though, been looking to get a few Hydra analogs for awhile now.
