Forge World New Releases - Zone Mortalis

Zone Mortalis takes up the new release spots today.  And while I don't know anyone who actually plays this way, I give Forge World an A for effort.

From Forge World:

The cities and starships of the Imperium are often ancient and crumbing edifices, constructed in ages past from prefabricated STC designs from the Dark Age of Technology. In a galaxy beset by war any building or corridor may be pressed into service as a strongpoint. Abrupt corners and shadowed alcoves typify the interior workspaces, while the narrow corridors and indeed larger internal rooms can be sealed off by great plasteel blast doors.  To see our video of Zone Mortalis click here.
The tile measures 1' x 1' (300mm x 300mm) and is fully compatible with the other tiles in the Zone Mortalis range. These tiles use hollow resin, which allows us to produce highly detailed, light and very durable scenery pieces. Due to the casting process of this material, it is sometimes possible to find small air bubbles on these terrain pieces. These are easy to fill as our Working with Resin guide explains.

Model designed by Blake Spence. Available to pre-order now for despatch from the 25th of January.

Other boards now available:

Containment Tanks:

Scribe Station:

Now what I want to see is more Realm of Battle Boards from Forge World!

  1. I play Zone Mortalis regularly, it is a great game to play.

However I don't use the FW tiles, though I might pick up some of their scatter terrain for it.

  2. There's decent alternatives available that are way more flexable. Dwarven Forge's SciFi range for instance. Also there's a number of people who cast HirshArts SciFi products that can make stuff similar to ZM. I used to think that the Dwarven Forge Products were expensive, but that was before Forgeworld showed us how truly expensive they could make stuff.

  3. I don't play Zone Mortalis as like you don't know anyone else who does. essentially its Kill Team right?

the rules set looks good and I would like to delve in and explore. however, I have no idea why anyone would buy the tiles. Don't get my wrong they look great but they're hideously expensive.

As has been said previously, there are cheaper alternatives and of course building a set yourself with interchangable walls is, to me, a more attractive and far cheaper option.
