Well, here are more rumors from reliable sources on Warseer and Dakka.

According to my contacts, we're about 2 months away from a Chaos Invasion, so let the galaxy tremble!!!
You won't need special characters to unlock Legion Armies, however some
of them will make certain unit(s) much better. The flexibility of taking
a "regular" Chaos Lord, or Sorcerer, or Daemon Prince, OR Aspiring
Champion(s) will still be there, which of course will be able to lead
your Night Lords or World Eaters or Iron Warriors.
And (a bit older but worth reporting)
So basically, all the Legions will buy the same boxed set for the
majority of their models, but to make them Legion specific, separate
sprues will be sold which will include shoulder pads, heads, banners,
few weapons, etc. Terminators will also get separate sprues made
available to them to become Legion specific.

As always, these are rumors, but generally seem to agree with what is out there and TheDarkGeneral is a good source.

Tantalizing stuff. Particularly the Special Characters vs. Generics stuff. Probably will bring them in line with many existing codicies--I'm thinking SM here: add Pedro, get Sternguard as scoring. Seems to fit their notion.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of the special characters, but it seems to be the direction things are moving in. Exhibit: Necrons.
Will be good to see, as if nothing else it should get some more Chaos on the tables--they're a huge rarity around here.

I find it interesting that we know a little bit more on codex and army book release scheduled than wave releases.
