We know that there are still thousands of Sisters of Battle fans with
lovingly painted collections of Sisters of Battle miniatures, but there
is no easy way to get hold of a codex to use them in your games. We
wanted to provide an up to date codex that would be fully compatible
with the current edition of Warhammer 40,000 and let players bring the
forces of the Ecclesiarchy to the battlefield once more.
The starting point for this codex was the mini Codex published in White Dwarf (it being the closest to current way of building an army). One thing that you may not know about the White Dwarf codex is that much of the background that was written for it was never put into the magazine due to space restrictions. There is no such issue with digital editions, so much of the background in the digital codex has never been printed before.
The rules of course, have been updated as well. All the newer Codexes contain army-specific Warlord Traits and unique items, and this Codex is no exception.
Existing players will also notice a few other changes, particularly the way Acts of Faith work with your army. There are even a few additions that other newer Codexes don’t have, such as Apocalypse Formations and Altar of War scenarios.

Well, why can't they have a PRINTED codex? Seriously. You put out an entire Iyanden supplement, but you can't print a codex for an entire army? How hard is it to take this already digital, ready to print, codex and hit "SEND" and send it off to China for printing? Now, maybe there is plans for printing one, but don't Sisters players deserve to know that?

Geez Nykona.. i had thought with Loken taking a back seat that things would have least gottn a little bit more positive.lol. I have a sisters army and am very happy that they are not getting squatted.. Their "openness" regarding this release (check the GW digital facebook page) has been great and I am hoping a start of them being more open and interactive with their fanbase. Definitely not in agreement with a lot of their practices but this should be applauded..

ReplyDeleteEhhh, they're are putting out digital releases before print because print takes longer. Notice the Black Legion is finally getting released in hardback? Pretty sure everyone is happy to have it now instead of waiting longer.
