A new Flyer Supplement and the big News is Stormravens are going to be available to ANY Space Marine army!
Here are the rumors:

My sources say this will be a 70 page "compendium".
It will have updated 6th edition rules for flyers:
Stormraven (now available to space marines and BT) Storm Talon Ork Bomba / dakka jet / burna bomba Valkyrie / vendetta Razorwing & Voide Raven Night Scythe / doom scythe
Also dog fighting rules from crusade of fire and a new flyers scenario. I'm told this book will be a range item and not a limited release.

This is not as
exciting as people may think. I saw the advert for the book at a local
store; It contains only rules for fliers still on sale or with a codex
entry (the Dark Eldar bomber is in), some fliers have their rules
updated to 6th edition (whatever this means exactly). The only thing
actually new is, that the Stormraven is now available to Codex Space
Marines and Black Templars as well. Also you will find the flier rules
from Crusade of Fire and new missions. The book will be on sale (no
pre-order) from 16th of February, is direct only (so not from your FLGS), english language only and will not be limited stock.
So there you go. Flyers are now everywhere. And I can tell you that they are a lot less powerful in Apoc (which is probably good!). But still, av 12 Storm Ravens are in my army for good!

You say Flyers are now everywhere, but I see no mention in the above of any flyer for Tau, Eldar, nor Sisters of Battle..

ReplyDeleteRumors are snipits, tid bits, small pieces of a bigger puzzle, don't expect everything all at once, also that information could be held for something more... special later on.
Not all marines, just templar and blue book. Sw and da still don't have access. And I'll believe it when I see it. Every army is getting 1 flyer so far. I don't think they'd give blue book 2.

ReplyDeleteDA have 2, and they're both terrible. If they proliferated the Storm Raven more without a serious change in points cost of AV then it would only further cement the inferiority of DA Flyers.

That's because we Vlyka fight like Russ intended. With both feet on the ground! And don't mind those Skyclaws. After all they're not right in a head.
ReplyDeleteSo, if we don't get any special fliers (guess every Marine chapter gets Thunderhawks) we get free (or cheaper) AA (aka Skyfire) stuff. You know, to get the gnats! Wishful thinking.
But then again, shouldn't the Stormraven be one of the "Stormbirds" of Great Crusade time? Just wandering. Because if it is then even Vlyka Fenryka get them.
