Waseer WTF?

Warseer just pisses me off.  If you don't know this forum, fine, you aren't missing anything.  Both Dakka Dakka and BoLS have way better forums.  But if you do go there, don't they just freaking piss you off?  I have had it with that forum and their dictatorial moderators who clearly have something very large up their arses (as the Brits say).  I don't know how many times I have had posts deleted with no explanation, and now, I get some power hungry moderator delete the post about web-casting Adepticon claiming it is "Advertising".  Meanwhile, over at Dakka Dakka, we have a nice little thread going where people have asked questions and given feedback.

You know, that is what a forum is for.  Especially a gaming forum where we are all trying to have fun and promote the hobby.  I am spending probably over $ 2,000 of my very own money to do the community a favor and promote gaming and Adepticon, the biggest and best gaming event in the world.  The least Warseer could do is allow me to promote it.  What maroons.

Dakka Dakka is the king of gaming forums, and all you need to do is check out their web statistics to know this.  Dakka has TWICE the unique visitors each month that Warseer does,  and almost a third of what Games Workshop itself gets.  Dakka is user friendlily, and even lets you have a signature image, unlike Warseer, which doesn't allow you to do anything of interest with your signature.  Basically, Warseer is so concerned about controlling the user experience, that they take all the fun out of it.  While Dakka, is cool, has great moderators who know how not to be assholes, and Jon, the guy who runs Dakka is a gamer who is a great guy.

(I should note that The Dude, who moderates the Warseer 40K rumor forum, is an awesome moderator, and basically rumors are the only reason to go to Warseer).

I run the Apocalypse40K forums, and I would welcome  someone posting about events like this.  Promoting the hobby is what we should all be doing more of.

So basically screw you Warseer.  In your attempt to control everything you just piss people off.  Occupy Warseer!  :-)

Unfortunately, as poor as the discussion on Warseer may be, it's loads better than on Dakka. The strict moderation means that only people who really want to post something there actually do and the idiots go to Dakka.

You know, my experience is the opposite. The mods on Dakka are very cool and never arbitrary. There are always morons everywhere.

Sounds like their loss. You'll get the word out though. :)

I was banned from Warshit for posting a youtube video from a comedy show.... shows just how insane the mods are there.

The thing I dont understand is why so many rumours sources stem from warshit.
Then again if you dare discuss the rumours you are as likely to get banned for asking a question as you are to waking up in the morning.

DakkaDakka is a good forum, so is BOLS though a bit dead in the news and rumours section.
Heresy-Online is the forum I'm from and prefer it's easy going nature. DakkaDakka is also pretty easygoing and lots of friendly people and mods there.

they are are slowing out, bols's main site has no decent content went away a long time ago but the community there is really nice and the lounge is great! dakka is a tad childish and warseer is overcrowded ...

I ran into a similar problem on Warseer back when I had my Scratch Built Titan give away a few months back. I posted a thread to let people know about it and was given a warning for "advertising" as well. I tried to plead my case that it wasn't advertising and I was not making any money off the site in any case. I think what bothered me most is a total lack of response to my query.

I've come to the conclusion Warseer isn't a place for me anyways, especially if they have no interest in growing the hobby and encouraging the community.

I agree with you 100% warseer is a joke!! Their site admins ban flag an act like the nazi SS of the Internet forums. You post something they don't like bam gone. The biggest D-bag is T-tarui.

I'm not a fan of Warseer, and I don't go their for rumors as inevitably someone will post them to Bolter and Chainsword or some blog. But i'm not sure calling them maroons will offend them. ;-)

I have finally come to see the light regarding how true it is that Warseer is an absolutely intolerable place to spend any amount of time. You don't have to be a member to read what their rumor mongers write, so there is really no reason to have an account there, especially given how abusive and absurd their mods and admins are. Speaking of which, the worst one I've had to deal with was "The Dude"
