Mystery Large Vehicle

3 New Characters:

...existing characters moved to finecast.

Also, noted on the

So there you go Dark Angel fans.  The Angels of Caliban were my first army and so while I don't play them anymore, I have a soft spot in my heart for them!

Forge World New Releases - Squad Sets

Forge World has announced some Horus Heresy inspired bundles just in time for Christmas. Get them while you can, though, as they'll only be offered for a very limited time.

MkII, MkIII and MkIV Legion Tactical Squads Sets

From Forge World:

The mainstay of any Legion is its Tactical squads; serried ranks of bolter-equipped Space Marines capable of crushing almost any foe that stands against them.
We have put together three Tactical squads sets, each of which allows you to build two squads as the compulsory Troops choices for a Legion force. The Legion MkII Tactical Squad, Legion MkIII Tactical Squad and Legion MkIV Tactical Squad sets comprise thirty power armoured Space Marines, thirty bolters and a set of Command Upgrade parts for the relevant armour mark.

Legion Cataphractii Terminators Sets

Every Legion maintains a cadre of veterans within its ranks, and the most experienced of these deadly warriors often take to the field of battle clad in the near-unstoppable protection of Cataphractii-pattern Terminator armour.

The Legion Cataphractii Terminators with Power Fists set and Legion Cataphractii Terminators with Power Axes set each contain twenty Terminators, twenty combi-bolters and the relevant close combat weapon, and a set of Cataphractii special weapons. This allows the Elites section of your Legion force to be bolstered with two powerful Legion Cataphractii Terminator squads.

Legion Contemptor Dreadnought Talon

Terribly wounded and interred within an advanced life-support sarcophagus, the Dreadnoughts of a Space Marine Legion endure for centuries, perhaps even millennia, a tangible link to past glories and an incredibly powerful battlefield presence. Contemptor-pattern Dreadnoughts are immensely powerful, capable of fielding potent weaponry and protected by flickering energy fields.
The Legion Contemptor Dreadnought Talon is a potent Elites choice in the Legion army list, and this set contains two Contemptor Dreadnoughts, a Relic Contemptor Dreadnought, and six weapons: two Power Fists, an Assault Claw, a Heavy Bolter, a Kheres Assault Cannon and a Multi-melta.

It's a pleasant surprise to see Forge World offering these bundles. They are a great way to beef out a Horus Heresy army, build out some great customized squads in regular 40k, or a great way to save some money by going in with some friends. Hopefully we see more of these in the future.

New Puppetswar Tank WIP

Hamster 52 is at it again.  He already produced the Puppetswar Thunderbolt Light Attack flyer and the upcoming large flyer release and now he is working on a tank.  The chassis is separate and meant to be multi-purpose.

Eldar Warlock Titan in 6th Edition

By Andrew Lotz

In preparation for The Big Game III, generals are readying their armies and showpiece models for conflict. Part of that preparation means agreement on which rules to use for rarer pieces—particularly all the older Amorcast models that brought Epic 40k units into regular 40k scale size.

Space Wolves Fortess at Warhammer World

When I was at Warhammer World two years ago, I took photos of this amazing diorama called "Magnir's Crag".  It has also been displayed at Games Day UK, so I thought I would gather my photos and a bunch from GW and show it off.

The stained glass windows, by Studio illustrator Neil Hodgson feature illuminations of famous Space Wolves heroes.

Dave Andrews pressed his massive planetary defence laser into service once more - this time standing watch over Magnir's Crag.

Matt Holland also converted Svorin Jergensen, a celebrated knife fighter shown here tearing open the throat of a Hormagaunt.

The spire was built as a separate piece, using parts from all manner of kits, including Imperial Bastions, The Shrine of the Aquila, Fortress of Redemption and more besides.

Hope you enjoyed the photos!

Forge World Horus Heresy Video Gallery

Forge World has released a video of the four armies it has released so far for The Horus Heresy, featured in the first volume, The Horus Heresy: Betrayal.  Sons of Horus, Death Guard, Emperor's Children and World Eaters.  Very cool, it shows various models that you have seen in their books and at Games Day.

Forge World New Releases - Weapon Sets

Forge World has released Heresy-era weapon sets and they are pretty awesome.

Forge World Horus Heresy New Releases

New kits from Forge World are out and thankfully for our wallets, they are figures and not more awesome tanks!

Legion Champion and Master of Signal

From Forge World:

Ranked below the Praetors, who command the massed ranks of the Legiones Astartes into battle, is a substantial cadre of battle commanders and officers who control and co-ordinate hundreds of thousands of Space Marines across a given conflict. Commonly referred to as Centurions, more specialised officers and ranks are also included under this level in the chain of command. The Legion Champion and Master of Signal are two such commanders; both ranked equally but with very different battlefield roles.

A Legion Champion’s sworn task is to hunt down and slay the commanders and heroes of an enemy force in single combat. Armed with the finest weapons available, these deadly fighters embody the honour of their Legion.

A Master of Signal will commonly be attached to the forward elements of a Space Marine assault, providing communications support across the wider warzone, and is capable of calling down a pinpoint bombardment from either orbiting fleet assets or static artillery positions nearby, engulfing the foes of Mankind in flaming destruction.
The set comprises two detailed multi-part resin miniatures. Models designed by Mark Bedford.

Legion Mk II Assault Squad

Jump pack-equipped assault squads, whose wargear is optimised for close quarter fighting, fulfil much the same role among the Space Marine Chapters of the 41st Millennium as they did for the Legiones Astartes during the ancient and storied Great Crusade. Able to move with great speed across the battlefield and engage the foes of Mankind with savage force in bloody melee, it is a rare Space Marine force indeed that does not count these masterful warriors among its number.

The Legion MkII Assault Squad, designed by Will Hayes and Phil Stucinskas, comprises 5 detailed multi-part resin models armed with bolt pistols and chainswords. The kit contains 2 different helmet designs and 5 differently-posed sets of legs which allow for great flexibility when assembling the squad. The components are fully compatible with our existing MkII Space Marine Assault Squad as well as the rest of our range of resin Space Marine infantry, and with Games Workshop’s plastic kits. The Legion MkII Assault Squad is available to order now for immediate despatch.

Complete resin kit containing 5 Assault Marines in MK II 'Crusade' pattern power armour armed with Phobos pattern Bolt pistols and chainswords. Models designed by Phil Stucinskas and Will Hayes.

The more of these cool individual models Forge World puts out the happier I am.  They add flavor to our Legions.

Black Templars in 2013?

From Tasty Taste over at Blood of Kittens

With all the rumors flying around about Dark Angels and the bogus ones concerning Orks, I find it amazing that no one has mentioned anything about one codex that is in need of the most love. Before I talk about that, I want to add to the chorus that Dark Angels are heading our way Jan or Feb.

Now back to why you are reading this in the first place, the Black Templars, well I got some news for you!

And sadly, you’re probably not going to like it.

Earlier this year I was told that Black Templars would be getting the White Dwarf treatment aka like Sisters of Battle. Then earlier this month Robin Cruddace teased everyone a little bit by not confirming or denying they would get folded into the next Space Marine codex.
So after doing a bit of investigating I want to confirm that Black Templars are still on track for the White Dwarf treatment by summer 2013 at the latest. Now I do have one caveat: it could very well mean they are getting an “update” not a White Dwarf codex, but all I am hearing is a two issue White Dwarf codex to bring them in-line with 6th edition.

More importantly what changes are we are looking at?

While detailed specifics are hard to come by this is what I got so far:

Vows are gone, but are now folded into specific Black Templar Warlord Traits and have changed dramatically. Unique characters including the Emperor’s Champion will get specific ones.

The Emperors Champion is not required taking.

“No Pity, No Remorse, No Fear” & “Righteous Zeal” are Crusader & Zealot with various conditions. Expect various additional rules to kick in when Black Templars start dying.
“Abhor the Witch” is staying.

Neophytes have their own unit lead by an Initiate (flip of Fluff and rules here a bit, but makes sense).

Rumored to be gone:

“They Shall know no Fear” Zealot to fill the gap my guess.
“Tank Hunters”

That is all I have for now, this one is still a bit away so will be interesting to see if anything changes as we get closer.

Follow Blood of Kittens here.

As always, sprinkle liberally:
