Horus Heresy Visions to be Reprinted

The Black Library will be re-releasing "Visions of Heresy", the book which was the basis for all the Horus Heresy fluff and was written by Alan Merrett, the supreme overlord of 40K fluff.

From The Black Library:

From the ashes of the Great Crusade, treachery was born. Always first among the superhuman primarchs, the newly dubbed Warmaster Horus turned his back upon the Emperor and embraced the dark powers of Chaos. With fully half the military might of the fledgling Imperium at his command, he set his sights upon the throne of Holy Terra and waged a war which would divide the galaxy forever...Visions of war, visions of darkness, of treachery and death - all of this and more is contained within this heretical volume. Iconic depictions of the Space Marine Legions and the heroes that commanded them are presented alongside artwork from renowned artists Neil Robert, as well as brand new historical notes on the Warhammer 40,000 universe by Alan Merrett. Witness the end of an era and the beginning of something far darker, as the Heresy continues to unfold.

The book was originally issued in 4 oversized paperbacks.  It was then collected in one large book (and a very limited edition leather bound, slip-cased edition).  The collected Visions had one of the worst designed dust jackets ever, and needs a good update, so this will be welcome.

The book is due next June.

Have you bought this book previously?  What are your thoughts?

  1. Yes, I bought at the time the collector's edition. The book is worth it, especially arts are awesome! They are brilliant! It capture the spirit of 40k. And thanks to this book, I became interested in heresy and began collecting my space wolves, inspired arts of Smith.
