Finecast Space Marine Release in May!

Finally!  Games Workshop is releasing a ton of Space marines in Finecast and it all starts hitting the shelves in May.

There are some interesting things here with the Space Marine Chapter Masters, Space Marine Casualties and even the return of the Tyranic War Veterans!  And thankfully the Thunderfire cCannon, which is a bitch to put together in metal (and can really hurt someone it is so heavy!).

  1. Well, it looks as though it's time to make some moves on the metal models before they're all rereleased as pencil toppers :( The only thing in there that looks interesting are the chapter specific upgrades. Don't like how frail Finecast is.

And if you look at the miniatures bootlegging site www.miniatureshobby.com their top selling items are metal minis of Finecast minis... says something big to me.

  2. Good to know - just jumped on the GW site and picked up a couple Chaplains before they swap over to Finecast. Although based on the list, it looks like one of the ones I'd ordered (Crozius and Plasma Pistol) either isn't making the transition or is being deprecated entirely. Either way, far better to get them in metal before it's too late, as far as I'm concerned.

  3. I'll be so happy when the thunderfire cannon comes out in finecast - anything's better than making that in metal

  4. I like how the one model I would be interested in fincast, the terminator chaplain, is getting a huge price hike. yay for +44% the cost. ugh

  5. At this point, one can't help but wonder if this is some sort of 'New Coke' ponzi scheme.

I was looking forward to a FC Thunderfire, as I own 3 of the metal ones. But then I realized how frail the legs on it would be, as well as the side plates. And on top of that, you'd basically have to pin EVERY servo joint on the accompanying Techmarine.

I've found that if I clip the axels (closest identifying term I can think of for it) so they'll all fit in the teads, and then pack them in with super glue and green stuff, it goes together VERY nicely. Gonna try and pick up some more used metal models now that I've gotten assembly down pat.

  6. interestingly www.miniatureshobby.com appears to be unreachable through both work and my ISP, can anyone else access it or has it gone???

  7. It's not just you. Their site appears to be down. Maybe GW read this and sent them something. Who knows? I'd check back in a couple days. I think they operate on Ebay as well as my friend purchased a metal finecast model from a seller in China on there.

Does the yearly price rise in June come in addition?
