Adepticon Best Army - Jim Wappel

Jim Wappel is one of the truly nice guys in the game and one of its most talented painters.  My girlfriend and I had a blast two years ago attending his basing class at Adepticon and you can see he knows his stuff by his AMAZING bases on his army.  His Grey Knight army is without doubt, the best army I have seen in my 3 years attending Adepticon.  Here are some photos for your enjoyment.

Grey Knight!

The most amazing Land Raiders ever!

Packing up after the tournament is over.

Best Appearance!  And rightly so!

Count me as Jim's # 1 fan.  See all of his army here:

Now if I can get him to sell this army to me....

  3. Hey, great to see you in the 40k room! I actually got to talk to way more people by not doing the seminaras or Crystal Brush and replacing them with tournaments. How crazy is that? :-)

Work on the Dark Eldar begins again for 2013...

  4. Who is the Inquistor with the large shield? Looks straight out of a poster I've seen.

  6. I believe the Storm shield inqusitor is Hector Rex. It's aForgeworld mini that comes with a few retinue figures. This was the second time I had painted him. :-)

The extra retinue figures are also very nice.

  7. Thanks Jim! :D He's on my desktop right now in an awesome GK painting. When I saw the model painted just like the picture, it blew me away. You are extremely talented, sir! :D

  8. Wait this is what he plays with? Jeebus, I'd have that locked in my display cabinet with an underfed rotweiler chained to it. Brilliant.

  9. Thanks to everybody for the kind words :-) I am working on some photos of the retinue elements of the army, such as the assassins. Now I just need to come up with rules for a very deadly 40k Reaver jetbike racing game...
