40k players will only get one codex this year and that is Chaos Space Marines– along with 6th edition of course.
So the time-table has changed and looks like this:
June-July 6th Edition
Sept-Oct Chaos Space Marines
Sprinkle in some flyers, buildings, and that is all you will see from the 40k front for the year.

So that means no Dark Angels and no Tau. StickMonkey, another well known and reliable rumor poster, agrees with this assessment. So that is not good news for 40K players. Especially those of us who love the Angels of Caliban.
What is surprising is that if the Dark Angels are indeed in the new boxed set, that there is no corresponding codex release. That really makes no sense. We shall see.

As much as I love seeing the rumors about "insert army name here" and such. The ping pong effect drives me further down my insainity road.
And I know a lot of stuff from our beloved hobby is spread upon the wind by dedicated and knowlegable "insiders". But sometimes its just wishful thinking or worse GW rooting out its leaks...
But that's my opinion... I could be wrong
It's almost like trying to predict the weather. Who knows; we could see Codex: Orks, for all we know or can prove.

ReplyDeleteThis is bullshit! The game is broken already and needs fixing. 1 Codex is not going to do it unless GW go FAQ crazy.
ReplyDeleteI still don't necessarily believe this. GW is crazy to not put out the Dark Angels with the 6th edition.
ReplyDeleteIt's stil just a rumor at this point. And besides, the last 'reliable' rumor mongers were both debunked and bowed out. Seems like GW could almost be running a misinformation campaign now.
ReplyDeleteIm pretty close with GW and I can say without a doubt that the new rumour is they are holding back 6th ed until 2014. All codexes will be re-released between now and then and will be again re-released after 7th Ed which will come out 1 month after 6th. So honestly I believe nothing until its in my hot little hands.
ReplyDeleteFor the last 5 years the only faction I own and play is Dark Angels and I've taken a hiatus from 40K because of how outclassed they have become (Cannon fodder for other factions) and seemingly no love from Games Workshop. While I have been upgrading a few elements of my faction I have also been waiting on the new codex to come out so I can become competitive again. If were not getting a new codex till next year, it may be time to give up and get out.
